Kevin S. Tallulah. This book was funny, raw, and sad. The narrator is clear about who Tallulah was. Reminded me of the Sylvester song, you make me feel mighty real. This whole book is exactly that. Mighty real.

Marissa Warning: Spoilers ahead! Because I don't know how to talk about this amazing book otherwise. I fell in love with Tallulah, her amazing White People music takes, her struggles with sobriety, her whole damn thing. I knew it was going to go bad for her, and when it did, Cosley reached into my chest and tore my heart out. I keep reading this book, and my husband and i keep quoting the music parts. Narnia Warlords for the win!
