Every single character, client, and of course the narrator are pure Gold. I loved all three of these books, and there's talk of a fourth. Can't wait.
From the start of this book, I knew it was good, even though it's a world I know nothing about: social work, the desert, burnout in the helping professions. Cosley made me care so much about his people while laughing my ass off. I wish Cosley was in charge of the safety net for America!
I did not know social work noir was a thing, Cosley would probably tell you all social work was noir. Loved it!
This is a book that did not disappoint. Made me want to visit Sagebrush City. Loved it!
